Toyota aims to reinvent the Crown as a “crossover-sedan” — giving it a taller ride height and more aggressive styling while retaining sedan proportions.
All models come standard with hybrid powertrains and all-wheel drive.
The base trims use a 2.5 L hybrid setup (~236 hp), while the top Platinum trim features a turbocharged hybrid system (~340 hp) for more performance.
The design emphasizes comfort and style more than sporty handling, though the Platinum adds adaptive suspension and extra features to make things livelier.
For 2025 there’s also a Nightshade edition, which swaps chrome accents for blacked-out styling cue
It’s part of a broader “Crown family” strategy — Toyota also has a Crown Signia crossover version to expand the lineup.
